Copying dashboards to new Kibana instance

We deploy a collection of microservices in kubernetes, including Kibana. We create many of these, all day long, every day.

How can I deploy Kibana with a set of custom dashboards that are ready to use when Kibana is started in kubernetes? I'm fairly new to Kibana and didn't find it in the docs.

The searches, visualizations and dashboards are all persisted to the .kibana index in Elasticsearch. It's possible to seed the index with the data.
