Hello,
I read that Legacy visualization will be depreciated in the future.
We have now Kibana version 8.18.1 and more dashboards (over 60) with visualizations.
When we will upgrade Kibana in the future version where will be depreciated Legacy visualizations, what will happen with old visualizations?
Legacy visualizations will not work or they will be automatically converted into the same design in the Lens?
I am only afraid that we will need manually create all visualizations in the future. It will be for us more work.
Thank you,
Regards,
Katerina
Hi @hofrichterovak
currently previous editors (Agg-based and TSVB) editors have been parked into a Legacy group within the Visualize library, but there's no impact on already created visualizations.
Dashboard with legacy visualizations will keep on working with no warning or anything: when in edit mode a notification will appear on the panel to prompt an automatic migration to Lens (if possible) but that's it. For a dashboad viewer there's no different between one panel or another.
Even when the editors will be removed existing visualizations will carry on working within dashboard in view mode.
We're working to make Lens cover all the features available in previous editors, and more (i.e. ES|QL support) and we're only removing legacy editors when we're sure it is possible to migrate to a newer tool for all of them.
