Difference Vector search & Semantic Search

Hello,

From what can be seen on the Subscription page it seems that Vector Search & Semantic Search are different.

Vector Search IS included in the free/basic tier, whereas Semantic Search IS NOT included in the free/basic tier, only being included in the paid tiers.

From my understanding Vector Search & Semantic Search are the same thing?

Does this mean that Semantic Search is referring to ELSERv2?

Could someone clear up my misunderstanding here?

Indeed, vector search is free.

semantic search implies a model is being used. So, using a model inside the stack is what costs in this instance. An example of which would be ELSER in the stack.
