Does synonyms.txt file in synonym token filter reside in cluster state?

Hi, I have a synonym file which is about 300MB. When I define a synonym token filter which uses this file. Will the 300MB reside in the cluster state and get updated on all nodes at regular intervals?

When I create an index with synonym token filter involved in the settings, its takes almost 15mins for the shards to allocated and turn green. Please assist.

Yes they are stored in cluster state. Given that's a pretty large file, it's not surprising it's taking that long.
