Easy arithmetic function byte to gigabyte

Hey there,

looking for an opportunity to calculate with a numberfiled in a visualization.

My current need is: convert bytes in gigabyte only in the visiualization. The field needs to be in bytes.

Hi Bastianhoss,

If you go to Settings and click on you index pattern name you will see the list of fields.
Find your bytes field and see what is shown in the format column. If it's blank, the click on the edit icon and change it to Bytes and Update Field. That should automatically format bytes for you.
