Edit a personal metric by kibana

Hi ,i am trying to create visualizations with kibana but when i want to use metrics i had just found a classical ones such as sum , average, min ,max... my question is if for example i had in a document a field called quantity and a field called price_unit and i want to use a metric that calculates the revenue = quantity * price_unit can i edit this metric by kibana or not ??? any help please !!!

You could achieve this by using the Advanced Json input for Kibana charts. Here, I could link you to a more detailed discussion on advanced Json input. It will query Elasticsearch for the data, and then the formula is performed in the script based on the values from elasticsearch. Feel free to come back with more questions if you have.

JSON Input for Kibana charts

Is it right that these JSON input parameters cannot do any real searches in elasticsearch then? We are trying to secure a user's Kibana instance so they can only present data from the indexes we decide. We already used rewrite rules to block the Settings section but we want to make sure the JSON Input parameters cannot be used maliciously.
