Elastic snapshot repository - hidden .snapshot/ directory

Hi,

I recently set up a snapshot repository.
After a couple of hesitations and tests, I adopted a final setting.
And ran the first snaphots after defining my policy.

Now, I am facing a disk space issue.

I noticed a hidden directory in the root directory of my NFS share named .snaphot/
and containing multiple subdirs REPL-MTREE-AUTO-.
Is it a kind of replica ? I searched the discussion forum but found nothing related to this.

Can I delete these subdirs ?

That doesn't sound like anything to do with Elasticsearch.
