We have been testing Elasticsearch 7.4.0 and comparing it to our previous deployment of Elasticsearch 6.4.3. I have tried running both versions on a Mac and the indexing workload takes about 30% longer with Elasticsearch 7.4. Both are using identical index settings with 1 shard and no replicas with the exception of one index that has 4 shards. I have 10 indexes and each is getting about 1 million documents inserted into it. I am using Java 11. I have seen some threads on the forum where Elasticsearch 7 is slower with searching because of the idle refresh change but I don't think that is the issue since this is only an index workload.
