Hello Everyone,
I'm glad to announce on behalf of Packt and the authors Rafal Kuc
(Author of Apache Solr 4 Cookbook) and Marek Rogoziński the
publication of the first book on ElasticSearch,
It is 325 pages long, been sent to the printers today and is available
as an ebook at $22.12 from Amazon
It is also available print+ebook for $44.99 direct from Packt
(Amazon will soon update and include the print book on their site
too!)
The book is written in friendly, practical style with numerous hands-
on examples and tutorials throughout. It is for developers who wish to
leverage ElasticSearch to create a fast and flexible search solution.
If you are looking to learn ElasticSearch or become more proficient
then this book is for you. You do not need know anything about
ElasticSeach, Java, or Apache Lucene in order to use this book,
The highlights of the book are that it will help teach you the basics
of ElasticSearch like data indexing, analysis, and dynamic mapping.
How to query and filter ElasticSearch for more accurate and precise
search results. As well as how to monitor and manage ElasticSearch
clusters and troubleshoot any problems that arise.
If you have any thoughts or feelings get in touch. If there is any
part of ElasticSearch that you feel needs further documentation then
Packt Publishing is here for you and I'd love to follow up this book
with more on ElasticSearch!

We started working on the book long time ago, when there was no 0.20 yet, even in the beta state and we decided to go and base the book on 0.20. As you know ElasticSearch is fast quite rapidly and writing a book that includes all the features up to date is almost impossible. However, we decided to try to extend some topics in a form of series of blog posts, to show some of the new features that will be available in the ElasticSearch 0.21.
