Elasticsearch Cluster (Mixed OS)

Hi,

I'm plan to config 3-node Elasticsearch cluster as below.

  • node 1 : master-node (OS : Windows)
  • node 2 : data - node1 (OS : :Linux)
  • node 3 : data - node 2 (OS : Linux)

Is it possible to configure between different OS?
And is there any stability problem with this configuration?

Although it MAY be possible it is not recommended. You should also always aim to have 3 master eligible nodes in every cluster. One problem with this type of mix that I can foresee is that you will not be able to take snapshots to a shared file system as the path need to be the same across all nodes. Why are you looking to do this?
