How can I use elasticsearch to index my TrueNAS?
It would be useful if you could provide some additional information about exactly what type of data you are looking to index and what you want to do with it. The more details you provide, the better the chance that someone here will be able to help out.
Videos, music, songs, PDF and docx files, txt files. So a wide range of data …
I use papeless ngx for documents and I have tried sist2 but it is experimental and I want a solid unified indexer (if it even exists). I know that one of the TrueNAS devs plan is a native indexer but it firstly comes in 26.04. next April.
I thought it is only for document files but I did search a little bit more. It seems to support all file types that Apache Tika supports. I will definitely try it.
What frontend do you suggest for Elastic Search. I tried Kibana but it seems complicated. I want a more user friendly search experience ![]()
Most people use Kibana, as it is tightly integrated with elasticsearch, and is obviously created/maintained by same vendor.
To make a suggestion, please outline (in a little detail) what you are looking for with your NAS indexing? Some example questions you want a tool, some tool, to answer? And maybe how you tried to answer those Qs with kibana, and where you got stuck.
