Elasticsearch Not Working

When I am verifying the elastic-search status, its giving me the following
error message.

elasticsearch dead but subsys locked

Please help me out solving this.

Hi,
Here is the way to solve it:

You have to set the variables in /etc/elasticsearch/elasticsearch.yml:
path.data: path/to/data
path.work: path/to/work
path.logs: /var/log/elasticsearch
path.conf: /etc/elasticsearch

And remember to give access to user "elasticsearch" for folder that
elasticsearch uses:
chown -R elasticsearch /path/to/data
chown -R elasticsearch /path/to/work
