Elasticsearch throws "primary shard is not active Timeout:" error

Hi,

I am getting following error in ES,

"type"=>"unavailable_shards_exception", "reason"=>"[index-2017.10][2] primary shard is not active Timeout: [1m]

I didn't find any specific answer on why this is happening. Can someone please help?

Please explain the actions you were performing along with the settings and version of your elastic search.
