Enable "basic" ES features on local ES rpm installation

Hi,

I installed elasticsearch via the rpm repository. However, it is unclear to me what steps I need to take to switch from the OSS to the " Basic - free and open" version as advertised here.

(I want to use the dense vector feature and switching the version seems to be the solution as suggested in this thread for example.)

Does anyone know the steps or the page where they are descriped?

Hey,

you need to install elasticsearch instead of the elasticsearch-oss package, if you are using an older Elasticsearch distribution. However if you are using Elasticsearch 7.11 or above, you don't need to do anything, and are ready to use the dense vectors.

Thanks. I was using an old repo URL. Now, I can change the elasticsearch package
