Error creating bean with name 'client'

I was trying to integrate elastic search onto spring-boot application but I got this *Error
creating bean with name 'client' *Exception, not sure what is going wrong
as I could not find any similar trails before...
Thanks so much for guiding folks.
This is mu elasticsearch configuration:

What is the exception you're getting? That should tell more about what's right/wrong here.

I've had this working quite recently, can' t immediately spot what's wrong though.

With the (full) exception trace, i might be able to help.

I think this line is the clue:

Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/elasticsearch/plugins/NetworkPlugin

There is an issue with dependencies (versions)

From here (ClassNotFoundException: org.elasticsearch.plugins.ActionPlugin · Issue #21172 · elastic/elasticsearch · GitHub) the suggested solution is adding something to your pom.xml properties section.

<elasticsearch.version>5.3.0</elasticsearch.version>

An alternative i found here ( spring - Elasticsearch TransportClient NetworkPlugin NoClassDefFoundError - Stack Overflow ) is putting the main elastic artifact in your pom.xml

Hi Eike,
i add the elasticsearch dependency but he return this error :

Description	Resource	Path	Location	Type
The type org.elasticsearch.search.suggest.SuggestBuilder$SuggestionBuilder cannot be resolved. It is indirectly referenced from required .class files	EsConfig.java	/backend-project/src/main/java/com/backend/project/config	line 1	Java Problem

Interestingly, some googling shows spring only supports elastic 2.x, not the newer 5.x versions:

Sorry i didn't know this before :disappointed: Apparently i've used an older version then?

Thank you Eike  I have the same problem
