Exam Put vs POST

Hi, I've found myself getting a bit confused as to when the appropriate time to use a PUT vs POST when going about the labs. I'm noticing very subtle differences, primarily around server config state, but it seems that most operations are (relatively) interchangeable.

Does the exam care which you use? I'd rather catch a potential bad habit early on if it does indeed matter.

When to use PUT versus POST?

It's all about REST semantics. POST basically that you are posting a request which is going to modify the server state. POST index/type { "foo": "bar" } will generate an _id server side and will index the document with this _id. PUT is used to send a resource to the server. PUT index/type/id { "foo": "bar" } will put or update a document named index/type/id in the server. Makes sense? More details here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Representational_state_transfer

Thanks for referring me to that post. I did come across it prior to posting my question, but it doesn't cover if the exam grades on the different/correct usage. I'm still figuring out how each is applied throughout the course since I seem to match the rest of the solution, but get the verb incorrect.
