Export/Import ES 7 to ES 8

Hello.
we have ES 7 with 3 GB of data.
We will migrate to ES 8. and we are looking for the best way.

  1. is there an upgrade procedure without moving the data?
  2. we tried to export the data for later import - but it took over 24 hours. is this common?
  3. are there recommended export/import tools?
