Filebeat Kafka output compatibility

I want to use Filebeat Kafka output. Kafka version that I will use is 2.3.1.
But your docs said that
"This output works with all Kafka versions in between 0.11 and 2.1.0. Older versions might work as well, but are not supported."

I wonder If Can I use Kafka 2.3.1 version.
If I can't use 2.3.1 version, Do you have plan to update Filebeat?

The library we are using supports Kafka 2.3 according to its documentation.

I think this version is not included in our documentation because no one tested it from Elastic. So I would say it would work if you tried it.
