Filebeat prospector to be server location

Hi,
i have the ELK stack running on my machine (Filebeat/ElasticSearch/Logstash/Kibana), i want to point the filebeat.prospectors in the filebeat.yml file path to be a network location. I have access to the path through windows explorer after putting in username/pw. The below format has not worked for me, how can i configure that? thanks in advance.

-\networkpath\application\logs*.log

Be aware that we strongly recommend agains using network drives: https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/beats/filebeat/current/faq.html#filebeat-network-volumes We recommend to install filebeat on each node directly.

  • Which FB version are you using?
  • How does the path look like if you use it in the powershell? Full path to one of the files.
