I see many examples where a force merge is listed as a required step after resetting the refresh interval from -1 to 1s. Btw the docs advise to execute a force merge only on read only indexes that are not intended to be written anymore.
Any clue?
When you change the refresh interval I think a manual refresh is recommended, not necessarily a forcemerge unless you will no longer be writing to the index.
