In the nightly builds and in the upcoming 4.1 release of Kibana you can configure formating per field. This includes scripted fields.
Thank you - I'm working on the 4.1 snapshots and although you can select from predefined formats such as "BYTES" I could not find a way to use completely custom formats. Or maybe I just missed it - will go dig deeper.
