I'm not sure which version you are using, but I don't believe Kibana has a way to hide panels using a control or filter. I have seen that a similar question has been posed before, but I can't seem to find any raised issue on this on the Kibana GitHub repo.
If this is something you need you could either contribute the feature change or build a custom Kibana plugin with the functionality you need.
