How can I use controls selection manually in filters in Timelion

Hi,

In ES i have documents that contains itemId and GroupName. I created a controls' visualisation with a drop-down list for the GroupName and another drop-down for ItemId with parent as GroupName. I am trying to create a Timelion chart that shows the sum for a specific item selected and the sum of the parent group, both in the same chart and the controls plus the Timelion are in one dashboard. Can u please help explain how this can be done?

unfortunately this is not possible at the moment. Input control visualization will add both selections as filters to the dashboard. This means that the timelion expression can have no effect over this.
