Periodic reporting is on the roadmap (see below), and feel free to comment and +1 in Github.

Out of curiosity, what type of reports, in what format (e.g. PDF, Excel), and for what audience (e.g. executives, business analysts)?

Reports what we are expecting out of Kibana on daily basis is in the PDF format , also it would be good if we can include feature such as sending these reports over the mail to selected recipients.
