How is Elasticsearch windows service implemented?

I am now trying to install Elasticsearch on WIndows 2016 Nano server, but failed to setup and run the ES as windows service, I think there are some changes on Nano server. But have no hint on the root cause.
Where can I find the source code of the elasticsearch windows service, elasticsearch-service-x64.exe?

That could help me understand why the service not work on Nano server.

"Some changes" is a massive understatement. Are you able to run it directly (not using the service)?

Yes. I can start the ES successfully by running "elasticsearch.bat" on command prompt.
But cannot start it as windows service.
