How to apply Filter in Time series (Visual Builder) graph?

I am using Kibana version 5.5 and Elasticsearch version 5.5.
Kibana has new feature of Add a Filter but its not applicable on Time series Charts. Why??

There has been an enhancement request filed for the filters in TSVB .
