There is a Google Cloud Storage Repository plugin available, but this seems to require Elasticsearch 5.0 or higher, so I would recommend upgrading. Elasticsearch 2.4 is very old and no longer maintained.
Firstly apologies, we found that gcloud plugin (repository-gcs) can be used for ES version 5.0 or higher.
We have a use case where in, we are hardly binded with ES-2.4.0 version, that's the reason we were looking for a way to backup and restore indices.
Anyways, thanks for the info.
