How to specify the index in a pre registered search template in 6.3

Hi,

I am using a pre registered search templates in ES6.3, all is working fine, but I must be missing something obvious, where can I specify what index I want to hit when using the template?

I don't see a way to either add it to the template, or to the invocation of the template. Any hint to any doc or sample?
