How to use multiple inddexes in a dashboard

How to configure 2 or more indexes with similar structure in a kibana dashboard?
Tried with Index pattern, if the index names are not having similar naming patterns how to create an index pattern with different index names.

Hi Mark,
Is it mandatory to have similar structure in indexes to gererate a dashboard with multiple indexes?
Or is there a way to fetch few fields from multiple indexes and generate a dashboard? Kindly suggest. Thanks.

You can use as many different indices with different structures.
But If you filter for a specific field the dashboard will only show results for the indices that have the field.
For some visualizations you can also configure to ignore the global filter like TSVB.
