i wanted to know the options for connecting to an AS 400 machine. And also can ELK be used for AS 400. Kindly help me out . 
Beats are written in Go and the Go language does support that OS. So you won't be able to use Beats.
Elasticsearch and Logstash both use the JVM so if you have a JVM you may be able to run them.
If you want logs, a common solution is to forward the logs off the host using syslog then collect them on a remote machine using Logstash.
