i discovered a strange error on elk, regarding ILM.
Sometimes it happens that on index-management section i see errors
logged in this way:
illegal_argument_exception: index.lifecycle.rollover_alias [metricbeat-7.4.0] does not point to index [metricbeat-7.4.0-2020.07.22]
I have more environments, all configured in the same way and i'm getting this error just on some of them, furthermore if i wait for some minutes these errors disappear just to reappear after a bit of time.
This error seems not blocking, indices are anyway correctly managed by ILMs.
Looking on the web i found this link:
Where it's written: "when you initially created the index, it immediately attempted to execute the policy, but couldn't because the alias doesn't exist (since it was created shortly after the index)".. and it seems coerent with the behavior i'm discovering
Could you please confirm me if ILM works as described and if there is a way to avoid this error?
