I have logging-es directory(previous data) and started a new es container with clean storage. Is it possible to restore data from the backup data?

The directory has all es data. It looks like following:
$pwd
/elasticsearch/persistent/logging-es/data/logging-es/nodes/0
$ls
_state indices node.lock
When ElasticSearch deploy, the folder is created and data will be stored in here.
is it understandable ?
