Is new mapping applied to new document in same index?

Hi,

I created a new mapping template. Will the new documents in the existing index not have the latest mapping ?

Is new mapping template applied on new index only or new documents also within same index ?

New indices only. You can adjust the mapping on an existing index too, but changes to a template don't affect any existing indices.
