Jasper Reports adapter for ElasticSearch

Hi all!

We have been using ElasticSearch to migrate some of our clients from
other solutions to the ELK stack for monitoring their environments to
collecting other data. Many has used reporting systems and where not happy
with only the - excellent - Kibana dashboards.

In time we developed a custom adapter to bring ElasticSearch data to
Jasper Reports. This adapter has been in production with some of our
clients for a while and we decided that - even if it is not perfect - the
time has come to give back to the community. We are not sure what the need
of this solution is for others, but we are curious to see what uses people
will find for it.

We released the source code for it on GitHub

  • https://github.com/WedjaaOpen - and you can also find an Update Site for
Jaspersoft Studio. There is also an adapter for Jaspersoft Server - and
instructions on how to install it.

We have made a blog post on installation and a quick guide on how to use
it that you can find at http://blog.wedjaa.net/.

This adapter has some limitations, but so far you can cut and paste most
of the queries from Kibana in it and it will spew out reports. There is
still a lot of work to be done to make it perfect - but we realised that
    perfect, sometimes, it becomes never.

Let us know what you think about it,

    cheers,

    Fabio
