Java API Client compatibility mode

Hello,

I have a question regarding the compatibility mode of the Java API Client version 7.17.3.

Looking at the documentation section entitled "Elasticsearch server compatibility policy" (Introduction | Elasticsearch Java API Client [7.17] | Elastic), my understanding is that the Java API Client version 7.17.3 is compatible with Elasticsearch server 7.x starting with 7.17.3 but is not compatible with Elasticsearch 8.x

Looking at the documentation section entitled "Compatibility mode: using a 7.17 client with Elasticsearch 8.x" (Migrating from the High Level Rest Client | Elasticsearch Java API Client [7.17] | Elastic), it seem that the 7.17.3 client is compatible with Elasticsearch 8.X

Is it true that the Java API Client 7.17.3 is officially compatible with version 7.17.3+ of Elasticsearch including 8.x ? If it is, is it "guaranteed" that it will be compatible with future version 8.x of Elasticsearch, and are there any limitations ?
