Kibana 8.4.1 columns of saved search in dashboard cannot be changed

When a saved search from discover is added to a dashboard, the columns from the saved search are shown (which is good). When trying to add or remove columns in the dashboard panel the columns are not added or removed, so you are basically stuck to the columns from the saved search.
