I am running kibana against an elasticsearch cluster with two nodes. On initial startup everything works fine, however after a couple of hours or so, the kibana UI starts timing out - I get ERR_TIMED_OUT from chrome for anything on the kibana port. It appears that the elasticsearch cluster is running functionally in the background.
There is nothing in the kibana logs after the timeouts start leading me to believe that kibana has hung. Eventually the port stops responding at all.
Restarting the elasticsearch cluster along with kibana appears to resolve.
I've noticed I'm also getting errors as per
Collector [node_stats] timed out when collecting data on one of the elasticsearch nodes. This may or may not be related.
Any suggestions how I can diagnose and/or resolve?
