I was wondering what all was involved in building the current public Elasticsearch image: docker.elastic.co/elasticsearch/elasticsearch:6.5.4 . I notice that the image is a whopping 774 MB. I was toying with the idea of running a headless jre-11 or even the jdk8-slim, but also curious as to whether there is already a lightweight version of the container out there, or if everything was done to minimize the size of the previously mentioned image. If anyone also has suggestions on how to go about building a lightweight version, i.e. tools to use to remove un-needed aspects of the JDK I would appreciate it.
