Logs is not generating under /data/elasticsearch/logs

Hello Expert,

after installation default path for elasticsearch log file was /var/log/elasticsearch/elasticsearch.log
but i want to shipped this log to directory /data/elasticsearch/logs/. for that i have putted /data/elasticsearch/logs/ in elasticsearch.yml file under path.logs .. but logs is not generating here.. still its reflecting in default path only.. please suggest me here? do i need to any configuartion changes?

Thanks Mark.. for your response... i figured out the issue... Actually It was ownership issue .. which was root... it should be elasticsearch.
