Logstash not creating index in Kiabana or Eleastic Search

how to make sure logstash is actually sending data to elastic search, after following a getting start guide filebeat->logstash->elasticsearch->kiabana
Logstash configuration
# Sample Logstash configuration for creating a simple

Beats -> Logstash -> Elasticsearch pipeline.

  input {
    beats {
       port => 5044
     }
 }
filter {
  json {
     source => "message"
    }
 date {
match => ["message.timestamp", "UNIX_MS", "UNIX"]
target => "@timestamp"
  }

 }
 output {
    elasticsearch {
      hosts => ["http://localhost:9200"]
     index => "%{[@metadata][beat]}-%{[@metadata][version]}-%{+YYYY.MM.dd}"
    #user => "elastic"
    #password => "changeme"
}
  stdout { codec => json }
}

All I can see in my logstash log files
