Hi,
last week we have installed logstash on 2 servers, following the official instructions on Installing Logstash | Logstash .
In the last 2 days we are trying to perform the same but the logstash package is missing in repository.
Any idea what could be the issue?

First aid: All packages can be found here: Download Logstash Free | Get Started Now | Elastic
Which version Linux do you have? Check Warning in your article, maybe is something related to.

Hi Rios,
thanks for the tip, but we were aware of this and didn't want to proceed this way, because we need to manage large number of servers, and auto-update is not possible if the package is installed manually.
Thanks,
Borut

Sorry I missed this part, we are using Rocky Linux 9.8, and everything went fine so far, (we have installed Logstash on 2 servers with Rocky), but since last week we are blocked.

I cant repro that... All artifacts seem to be available. In a rocky container i can install logstash from the yum repo.
Perhaps they have an exclude in their conf somehow?
#!/bin/bash
set -x
docker run --rm rockylinux:9 bash -c '
cat > /etc/yum.repos.d/logstash.repo <<EOF
[logstash-9.x]
name=Elastic repository for 9.x packages
baseurl=https://artifacts.elastic.co/packages/9.x/yum
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=https://artifacts.elastic.co/GPG-KEY-elasticsearch
enabled=1
type=rpm-md
EOF
dnf repoinfo logstash-9.x
dnf search logstash
dnf repoquery --repo=logstash-9.x logstash
dnf list available logstash

You pasted an image of some shell output which is a bit unhelpful, cut & paste text would be more helpful, but I am pointing to same rpm/dnf/yum repo as you and I see:
$ sudo dnf repoinfo my-repo
Updating Subscription Management repositories.
Repo-id : my-repo
Repo-name : Elasticsearch repository for 9.x packages
Repo-status : enabled
Repo-revision : 1791286272
Repo-updated : Tue Oct 6 11:31:11 2026
Repo-pkgs : 1376
Repo-available-pkgs: 1376
Repo-size : 219 G
Repo-baseurl : https://artifacts.elastic.co/packages/9.x/yum
Repo-expire : 172800 second(s) (last: Fri Oct 16 20:26:28 2026)
Repo-filename : /etc/yum.repos.d/elastic.repo
Total packages: 1376
I note this matches your screenshot where it should, tho some of the numbers are formatted differently, except I see
Repo-pkgs : 1376
Repo-available-pkgs: 1376
i.e. all of them are available
and you see (assuming I read the text correctly)
Repo-pkgs : 1376
Repo-available-pkgs: 1272
In other words, DNF sees the same total number of packages but considers 104 fewer packages available on your system .
I’d suspect some local configuration or package-filtering issue, although I don’t know exactly what / where / why.
Please check/share output of
$ sudo dnf --disableexcludes=all repoinfo logstash-9.x
and
$ sudo dnf module list --enabled
(on my RHEL system no modules are enabled)
I dont know Rocky Linux well, but there's a number of ways to restrict/block packages via local configurations.

I have got the same package number, as RainTown, on CentOS:
Repo-pkgs : 1,376
Repo-size : 219 G
Maybe you should delete cached data and rebuild. Before that, check the directory
/var/cache/dnf

Hi Kevin,
you helped me find the issue!
logstash was excluded in /etc/dnf/dnf.conf, in order to avoid uncontrolled automatic updates in future. But obviously this needs to be done after the installation
Thanks everyone for the support!
