Monitor Nodes filter doesn't seem to work

My nodes are named like mes-0x for data, mes-kx for kibana client nodes and mes-mx for master nodes.

I thought I could type es-m in filter and only see my master nodes. If I type m, i see only the current master node, me causes it to disappear. Any other filter, like mes-0, shows nothing.

I think I'm using it like I filter indices, 07.25 shows all for today.

I noticed this on 6.3.1, but never tried it before.

Are all nodes set to send monitoring data to the master node?

All nodes appear before any filter is entered.

I think it's this: https://github.com/elastic/kibana/pull/20383
