Hi Folks,
with spec.monitoring ECK provides a very nice way to enable monitoring and ship data to a dedicated monitoring instance. However, you can not configure an instance to send the data to itself (stated here).
So what is the intended way to monitor the monitoring instance? I already ran in situations where the monitoring instance ran out of disk space, which could've been prevented with monitoring enabled.
Asxpack.monitoring.elasticsearch is deprecated I don't really see which way we are supposed to go. Install another instance just for monitoring the monitoring instance? Seems kind of weird.
Looking forward to any insights or ways that you have taken to target this problem.
