No space left on device when elasticsearch 2.1.1stopped

Hello,

when trying to run Elasticsearch 2.1.1, I have " 'java.io.IOException No space left on device' due to disk space" error message and Elasticsearch fails to launch. I looked into the documentation, search on the internet and i couldn't find anything with an answer that coul help me. How can I delete data from Elasticsearch when I cannot run it?

Elasticsearch simply needs some little working space to start up. You will need to clean up some space on your machine (potentially log files). Once that's done you can start ES and delete some data.
