Open Source vs Basic Licences

On the Subscriptions page, there's a feature comparison. The two free offerings, Open Source and Basic, point to the same downloads page.

Therefore, I have no idea which one I got when I downloaded Elasticsearch.

Can anyone explain why these two different free offerings exist?

You have by default the basic elastic license one.
The OSS one (with code under only Apache2 license) is available from https://www.elastic.co/downloads/elasticsearch-oss

So the OSS one is the same minus some proprietary / otherwise licensed stuff.

Thanks, that clarifies the matter.
