Per category email notifications of new topics

Apologies if this has been covered. I did search a significant amount before deciding to create a topic for the question.

In my Preferences, I can put a list of Categories in Watching First Post Only, and this will result in my getting the notifications that I want (one for each new Topic in my chosen Categories), but I can't figure out how to cause those to be email notifications.

Is this possible?

I see, you have "Send me an email when someone quotes me, replies to my post, mentions my @username, or invites me to a topic" unticked.

If you tick that, you will get these notifications, they are coupled to that option.
