Please clarify maintenance status for Functionbeat/beats code libraries

I am looking at the beats code libraries here:

When I use the link to the Functionbeat documentation, a banner states:

Functionbeat reached End of Support on October 18, 2023. You must consider moving your deployments to the more versatile and efficient Elastic Serverless Forwarder.

The overall beats repo is still getting active commits including today. What should we assess the status of the Functionbeat code libs to be maintenance-wise? Is it still, for example, getting essential security patches? Or should we consider this part of the repo to be end of life, with only the other parts getting updated?

I am currently security reviewing these libs, so need to understand what the current policy is.

I appreciate that the newer serverless forwarder is recommended. That is also under consideration but I need to fully evaluate both for this review.

As you have noted in the documentation, Functionbeat has reached End of Life and is superseded by Elastic Serverless Forwarder. If there are any modifications to the Functionbeat code base, it's perhaps due to it sharing components with other beats.

Needless to say that Functionbeat is not seeing any active development. Hope this helps.
