There shouldn't be an issue benchmarking any ES launched via a separate mechanism; you'll need to use the benchmark-only pipeline, please check the docs here: https://esrally.readthedocs.io/en/stable/pipelines.html#benchmark-only
You'll also likely need to authenticate and use TLS, please refer to: https://esrally.readthedocs.io/en/stable/command_line_reference.html#client-options
