Hey guys,
Is there any way to prevent the our elasticsearch cluster from becoming
unbalanced during a rolling restart?
We are correctly following the advice
here: http://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/guide/master/_rolling_restarts.html
However, the issue is that when we bring a node N back up and enable shard
allocation, those shards that previously lived on N, are allocated to other
nodes. This means, for each node deployed, the number of shard recoveries
is actually number_of_shards_per_node * 2.
Are we doing something wrong?
Thanks,
Lindsey
