Recommended elasticsearch version for metrics

Hello,

Is there any recommended elasticsearch version for metrics ? Metrics often use Date Histogram Aggregations and it seems that ES 6.1 is heavily impacted by https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/issues/28727.

I have a cluster in 5.1.2 which is not impacted (or, at least, not as much) : Date Histogram Aggregations take 10x less time than with 6.1 (on the same dataset). So I guess the optimal version would be between 5.1.2 and 6.1. Is there any recommandation on this subject ?
